Overlays
Same chart layers as the EasyNav iOS app. Official charts (CHS, NOAA, Kartverket Norway, Traficom Finland) and EMODnet European depths come from the tiling API (set under Settings); OpenSeaMap, CHS NONNA depths and OSM load directly.

Saved on the server, so they're reachable from any device — not just this browser. Routes are tied to your email: enter it to save and to see your routes (a lightweight gate until real accounts).
Tiling API
Base URL for ENC chart tiles. Defaults to
/tiles on this origin (same-origin — no CORS needed).Live data
Weather stations & AIS vessel positions — toggle with the ⛅ / 🐳 buttons on the map. The ⛅ layer shows every station in the current view: NOAA NDBC + Environment Canada marine stations (US & Canada) via the tile server, merged with the local sailing API below (called directly). The 🐳 toggle (shown when Extra features for Howe Sound is enabled below) also shows inferred whale sightings: the server logs the fleet around the clock and marks a whale wherever a boat leaves English Bay and drifts (1–10 kn) for 5+ min — a boat that merely stops is a seal, not a whale. The tag under each pin shows the whale's heading (arrow, or ? when unknown) and how long the fleet stayed on site, first boat to last; click it for each boat's arrival, departure and drift time. Use the day tracker at the top of the map to browse past days.
Extra features
Shows the 🐳 whale-fleet, ⛽ fuel-dock and ⚓ public-dock buttons on the map (Salish Sea area only). Public docks: DFO Small Craft Harbours, CRD community docks and marine-park dinghy floats.
